New Infertility Book Highlights (2019-2020)

I thought I’d take a moment to highlight some recently published books on the topic of infertility and miscarriage. I am thankful for the abundance of resources available these days! You are not alone, even if it feels that way. Keep digging into the stories and faith journeys of other women who have experienced an empty womb.

[I’m posting this in September 2020 to highlight some books I’ve discovered in the past year. Message me if there are books you’d suggest that I add!]

A Mother of Thousands: From Barren to Revolutionary by Heather D. Yates – I’ve only begun this book, and I quickly discovered that Heather is a gifted writer! Her story involves adoption and will speak to those who want more children, but learn to be content with one.

Life After Infertility: A Story of Hope for those who Wait by Sarah Rollandini – This is a memoir of Sarah’s family-building years – including infertility, loss, adoption, and much more. More than most infertility books, it reads like a story, so I couldn’t put it down! I had to know how the story ends! Here’s a review I wrote.

Held: 31 Biblical Reflections on God’s Comfort and Care in the Sorrow of Miscarriage by Abbey Wedgeworth – I haven’t read it, but I have heard excellent feedback. This would be a wonderful resource for any mama grieving after a miscarriage.

I Give Up: The Secret Joy of a Surrendered Life by Laura Story – I haven’t read this one yet, but one are she speaks to is infertility. Several years ago I wrote a review about her book When God Doesn’t Fix It. You can read that here.

No Less Blessed: Seeking God in the Wilderness of Infertility and Childlessness by Erica F. Mitchell – This book offers fresh biblical perspective. I also appreciate that the author wrote it from that raw perspective of being in the middle of infertility and childlessness. I highly recommend it for those who have no children and are asking “what about me?” Here’s a review I wrote.

Inconceivable Redemption: God’s Presence in Miscarriage and Infertility by Erin Greneaux – So far I’ve only read part of this book. You’ll find a rich reflection of the emotions surrounding miscarriage and infertility saturated by the truth of God’s word and His presence. ALSO: There is a Spanish version of this book!

Loss and Loneliness by Lindsay Emery – This memoir takes you through the author’s experience of miscarriage and infertility, as she grows in faith and trusts God through the process.

Angel Wings: A Story of Love, Faith, Infertility, Surrogacy, and Not Giving Up Hope by Stephanie O’Hara – I’ve heard good things about this memoir. The author shares about secondary infertility, loss, and surrogacy, to name a few.

Suffering is Never for Nothing by Elisabeth Elliot – Although it’s not officially an “infertility” book, the author’s wisdom, faith, and life experience will speak to you! If you wonder whether your loss or your infertility struggle truly qualifies as “suffering,” let this book convince you: You’re suffering. And God is still in it all. I wrote more about the book in this blog post.

Keep an eye out for this upcoming book by Traci McCombs. I’ll share about it when it’s launched!

I’m passionate about sharing faith-filled infertility books, because when I began trying to conceive in 2010 and realized things weren’t working as they should, I found very few Christian resources. A few years later, I felt prompted to write my first book Embracing Hope During Infertility.

Since that time, many people have been sharing openly through social media, blogs, and books, and for that, I am so thankful!
