FertilityIQ – A Resource I Wish We’d Had

Nine years ago my husband and I realized that we weren’t going to have babies quite as soon as I expected, and we began our long journey of infertility. I began researching fertility problems, Googling for answers, checking out library books, praying persistently, and learning lots about infertility. I felt reassured when I met other women struggling to conceive – we weren’t the only ones! Very few infertility blogs existed back then, and resources seemed hard to come by. I felt like nobody else was struggling like we were struggling. I didn’t realize that we were the 1 in 8 couples who face infertility.

We were slower than most to pursue infertility treatment, for reasons of personal preference, faith, and cost. We worked with an OBGYN for several years before setting foot into a fertility clinic. We now know about a fabulous resource that can help people navigate the world of fertility treatment: FertilityIQ.

Fertility 101 is a course they recently launched – and understanding fertility is key when you’re struggling to conceive! Here are some other video courses they offer that caught my eye. You can follow these links below or browse their website: www.fertilityiq.com/.

Here you can find info on smoking, caffeine, & alcohol, and their impacts on fertility. (This is helpful because the first obgyn I discussed infertility with told me to drink red wine and relax – uh, that didn’t work! – and I’ve loved my coffee throughout my TTC journey.) www.fertilityiq.com/lifestyle/smoking-caffeine-alcohol-impacts-on-fertility

This video is an overview of IUI, helping us understand what it is, how well it works, and providing an overview of costs, risks, and success rates. www.fertilityiq.com/iui-or-artificial-insemination/an-overview-of-iui

This one is a summary of the IVF process (it’s only 5 minutes – and there are many more video courses to help us understand more about the process) – www.fertilityiq.com/ivf-in-vitro-fertilization/summary-of-the-ivf-process

What is endometriosis? This is one I could have used several years ago when I first faced this diagnosis. www.fertilityiq.com/endometriosis/what-is-endometriosis

From time to time, FertilityIQ gives away a grant – they just gave away a $20K Fertility Grant! Make sure you check out FertilityIQ so you can learn about fertility and enter the next giveaway.
