A Book Baby!
Well, I might not have a pregnancy announcement to share today, and I might be way more of an expert on infertility than I had ever imagined possible, but one thing I know is that I was created to be creative and produce. While my womb stays empty, my heart continues to bubble forth new things that I then pour out onto paper. Two years ago I was finishing my first book project Embracing Hope During Infertility. Today I am sharing with everyone who will take note – I wrote a children’s book! It’s a fun book that describes the seasons from a child’s viewpoint, and it’s a message that I hope will lodge deep into reader’s hearts. This book reminds the reader that God is always good, even when our circumstances aren’t.
- Infertility doesn’t seem so “good.” But God is always good.
- Loss doesn’t feel good, but the truth is that God is unchangingly good.
- Financial struggles aren’t something anybody wants to experience, but they are an opportunity to see God do a good thing.
These examples remind me of James 1:2, which says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds…”
In those dark seasons, He is good. The trials of this life are an opportunity for joy and faith building. These are lessons I’m continually learning, and it’s a concept I’ve broken down to a young child’s level in my new book Seasons: A Picture Book. You’re going to love the illustrations, painted by my friend Karen Schneider.
